Skill Tree Platform

Gamified professional network with RPG-style skill trees. The "next LinkedIn"—professional development meets engaging progression mechanics.

Overview

A professional network that makes skill development visible and rewarding. RPG-style skill trees for real competencies—you level up by demonstrating work, getting endorsements, and completing challenges. The "next LinkedIn" for people who find traditional profiles static and unengaging.

The Opportunity

LinkedIn profiles are static and credibility is opaque. Learning platforms (Coursera, etc.) don't connect to professional identity. A skill-tree model could make progression visible, create natural discovery (who has the skills I need?), and incentivize continuous growth.

Approach

Define skill ontologies by domain (e.g. data eng, product, climate tech). Trees have prerequisites and levels. Progress via: project attestation, peer endorsement, assessments, or course completion. Integrate with existing credentials where possible.

Focus Areas

  • Skill ontology design by domain
  • Progression mechanics (levels, prerequisites)
  • Attestation and endorsement flow
  • Discovery (find people by skill + level)
